One of my absolute highlights from the design week so far was yesterday’s press view of Ilse Crawford’s upcoming Sinnerlig collection for Ikea. She designed 30 pieces of furniture, textiles and useful objects that will be available worldwide this autumn.

Sinnerlig is a made-up word, combining the Swedish word for sensuous and heartfelt, and in the amazing environment of the winter garden at Ett Hem where the show was held, this was exactly how the collection was experienced. Material wise, cork was dominating, which gave the pieces a warm and natural feel, and mixed with rustic ceramics, an amazing daybed with a woven frame (very mid-century Danish!), and blown glass bottles and vases, the industrial mass production associated with Ikea felt quite far away. It is not however a limited edition, Ikea have promised to keep it in production for at least a year, so hopefully everyone who wants a piece of this will be able to! My favorites are the daybed/sofa and the cork dining table with the super clever fabric shelf underneath. What are your favorites?

Everything you see in these photos is part of the Sinnerlig collection. Baskets, tables, rugs, lamps, stools, daybed, cushions, pots, vases, bottles, pendants, the lot. (Except for the bust of the old man, and probably not the green plants…)
