Last weekend, I was invited to Liberty to meet Emma Mawston, Head of Design at Liberty Art Fabrics, for a presentation of their new collection over tea. The collection, named Secret Garden, was inspired by the classic novel with the same name. Perhaps some of you read it as children? Then you can probably imagine the wild plant and floral prints, deep colours and even small surprises found in some of the prints. We got to see the original drawings and sketches, hear all about their design process, and how each pattern of this collection was inspired by a different quote from the book. And we had amazing scones with jam and clotted cream, the proper British way!
