I‘m back in Berlin for a short vacation, well needed after a very intense start to the year, both work-wise and personally speaking. As I’ve already visited the city a few times before, I feel no need to see the sights this time, instead I’m focusing on relaxing, eating in great restaurants, walking around my favourite neighbourhoods, unthawing my toes in as many third wave coffee places as I can find, experiencing some interesting art exhibitions and museums, and devoting my evenings to finding the best cocktails Berlin has to offer. That, and sleeping.
I always put a lot of effort into finding a nice place to stay when I’m traveling. To me, that is a big part of what makes a vacation memorable, and being a design nerd, I am always in a much better mood in stylish surroundings. Since I had such a great experience in the industrial loft I rented on my last trip here, I decided to go for something similar again. This time I found this restored factory loft right between Mitte and Kreuzberg, filled with a creative mix of furniture and an even more creative art collection. Turns out the owner is an art gallery owner, and for once I’m not objecting against someone taking their work home with them… The collection is ever-changing, so what you see here in the AirBnB pictures is not what will actually be on the walls once you get there.
I’ll try to compile a little Berlin guide with my favourite places (restaurants, bars, cafés etc) when I get back home, but for now I’m just going to enjoy the city!
